From the Archives: Take the Ball and Run With It!!

Posting from June 9th, 2008

Often times I am attacked by the enemy of our faith with lies straight from the pit of hell. He tries to tell me that God can’t use me. That no one is going to listen. He tells me “Who do you think you are?” “You’re a nobody!” You’re a Loser!”

Then I begin to pray and ask God to help me to meditate on Him, His Word, and the Truth that He has put in my heart. I begin to realize that God often times chooses the foolish things of the world to deliver the Goods News. He wants to use the drug addicts, the ex-cons, the adulterers, the weak, and the losers to become conduits of His Love. We WERE nothing without Him. But with Jesus and His Holy Spirit there is NO stopping us! We are now children of God Almighty. We are descendants of Abraham, the father of faith. We are overcomers!

Last Sunday after church we were running some errands and we saw a bible in the middle of the road. Well of course we could not just drive by and leave it there for the cars to run over, so my husband pulled over and picked it up. I opened it up to find a little pass it along card that read “Take the ball and run with it” There was a picture of a football and on the football was the scripture Mark 16:15. Of course I immediately looked it up. It says, and then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”

For me it was all the confirmation I needed to keep moving forward in my ministry work. I am encouraging you too, “Take the ball and run with it!” Don’t be afraid. God is with you. The vision and dream you have on your heart to reach out to others, to give back, to help the hopeless, and to make a difference in just one person’s life was put there by God himself. Now go and in faith one day at a time work toward fulfilling that vision. Don’t worry about how you’re going to do it. Don’t worry about whether you’re equipped to do it or not, or where the money will come from. Just trust God and don’t limit Him! The resources will come! Along the way you will see that as you seek Him he will be changing you, molding you, preparing you, and equipping you for what He has called you for. Don’t look back! Don’t listen to the negative attacks that will come, because they will. Focus on who you are in Christ and the power that you have through His Holy Spirit. Go and make a difference in the world. Let your light shine.

Ready set “Hut! Hut! Hike!!!

My God is Faithful!

My God is Faithful!
Psalm 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.He lifted me out of the slimy pit,out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
