He Chose To Walk That Road For You & Me

Isaiah 53:4-8

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people.

Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,

Jesus chose to walk that road of pain and suffering for you and me. God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering of our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. We were bought with a high price. Therefore we must honor our God with our entire lives. It is the least that we can do. We must not bring sorrow to the Holy Spirit with the way that we live. We must be imitators of God in everything that we do. We must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (2 Corinthian 5:20, 1 Corinthians 6:20,Ephesians 4:30,5:1, Philippians 2:5-11)

Let us follow Christ's example and show our love for Christ by also laying down our lives daily. Let us lay aside every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. Remember that we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making His appeal to the world through us. He wants us to speak up for Christ and plead with the world and those that have gone astray "Come back to God!" We are suppose to be the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, we must let our good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise our heavenly Father. May our lives be a living testimony to all so that they too will believe and put their trust in Christ Jesus. (Hebrews 12: 1-2, Matthew 5:14-16)

May we never take for granted the sacrifice that our Lord made for us so that we could be free from sin and the power of sin in our lives. May we glorify in Him in all that we do and remember to always be about our Father's business. Lord help us to walk that road, the narrow one, that leads to you. In Jesus name..Amen.

P.S.

This video is great! I pray that when you listen to the song and watch the video that you would be moved to serve Christ with all of your heart and with a sense of fervency to speak the truth of God's Word to all those that will listen. There are souls at stake. Please open your mouth and profess the Gospel. Jesus Christ is returning soon!

My God is Faithful!

My God is Faithful!
Psalm 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.He lifted me out of the slimy pit,out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
